Cornflakes Cookies

Meimei was bored after her piano lesson today. She agreed to bake Cornflakes Cookies for her fellow Anklung performers & teachers. Handed her the recipe & brought out the ingredients. Meanwhile I cooked dinner while she busied herself; shifting the flour, then beat the butter & sugar, add eggs, flour & cornflakes.

I scooped the batter into small cookies cups whilst she topped them with 1000s & 100s. Baked 5 trays with 2 butter. Whilst packing them, she received Ana's SMS `Angklung practices will stop till further notice. Study Hard =)'.

Yew Tee Pri Sch Angklung SYF Competition

YTPS Angklung SAYANG Ensemble went for SYF Competition today. Meimei is playing the Marimba M1. Jiejie used to play the same instrument, saw her name still on the mallet when she went back to help recently. Ana had been training the students 3x/wk since Jan. Give them a pat!

The performers missed lessons to rehearse after 10am today. Glad to know Lyn, a new PSG. 4 parents were tying hair & 6 applying make-up for 43 performers. Ex-performers; Kimberly Yr4 River Valley High & a Unity Sec 1 girl came to give moral support.

Nostagic flashback of Jiejie's batch attaining the 1st gold in 2004, wa.. 6 yrs ago, how time flies! All were glad to see the 1st principal, Ms Tan then for moral support. Also incident of 1 missing instrument that I quickly rushed back to YTPS in a lorry, delivered just in time for Angklung competition.

Watched 4 groups of pri sch performed in Republic Poly Theatre. Do-Ra-Me song played by Marie Stella boys was very energetic except they were dressed in their plain sch uniforms. Xinhua Pri came with super tall Angklung Bass, had to be stilted slowly thru the door to go on-stage.

YTPS played Di Tanjong Katong & Hungarian Dance. Some kids were nervous, the smaller angklung were a bit too soft. Had enjoyed Lyn's company for the day.

Result : SILVER (a little disappointed after 3 straight golds in 04, 06 & 08)

Finally had mailed out all the YT Br Family Day invites abt 3pm today. Started last Wed finalising the design & printed them last Friday.

Elin walked over to help this morning but lost her way & wet her pants in the heavy rain. She called LHC who came abt 12nn to do the folding whilst I inserted them into the envelopes. Ami called abt 2pm offering to help too but we're finishing then. They were parents' volunteers in YTPS when I was the PSG Chair. Really appreciate that their voluntary services are still available when I needed them. Thanks! Had a late lunch @ Koufu, met another helpful ex-PSG Kym & had a good chat with her.

Walked over to Quintet to get a box of cream from Shira, a new Facebook friend. I knew her abt 2 yrs ago when her eldest girl attended the Inline Skate class that I was organising for my residents. Lately I was reading her blog on her interesting cooking & baking journal. Feeling regretful as my 10-year-old ice-cream maker & bread-making machine are white elephant in the store.
